Partition expansion under SBS 2003 Server

We have to be amazed at current hard disk in fast installation rate for application programs and Windows updates, restore points, browser caches and temporary files which can take up all free space even if your system partition is very huge. If system partition is badly short of space, the system will pop up a dialogue box which reads Low Disk Space.



At this time, we must try our best to solve this problem. If we do not take measures, we can not install any update and application program in the system partition and the system even will crash.

Extend SBS 2003 Server partition
We can solve the problem of system partition space shortage easily by expanding partitions under SBS Server with partition manager Server called MiniTool Partition Wizard, because we just need to shrink a current partition behind the system partition to get unallocated space used to expand the system partition without losing data, reformatting partitions or reinstalling Server.

How to expand partitions under SBS 2003 Server with partition manager server?
Note:
all operations are listed on the "Operations Pending" column in the action panel. Besides, if our system partition of SBS 2003 Server is NTFS, we can finish expansion directly without rebooting the system. Steps to expand the system partition are as follows.



At first, open this partition manager Server to get the above interface. From this interface, we can see partition properties. Here, we right click the partition needed shrinking, and then select "Move/Resize" in the shortcut menu.



In this interface, we drag the left triangle on the left side rightwards to get unallocated space.



Here, we can see unallocated space. At this time, we right click the system partition, and then select "Move/Resize" in the popup menu.



In this interface, we drag the triangle on the right side rightwards to hold unallocated space.



At last, after clicking "OK", we click "Apply" to perform all operations.
So far, we have got desired partition size with the help of partition manager server – MiniTool Partition Wizard Server Edition.
