"Best Partition Manager out there" by hockemoto
have used this program to resize, create, delete, format and even once, rebuild the MBR. This was across 4 large drives of different makes on 11 different partitions. All this was done rather quickly, without any data loss.

Hard Drive Is Full

Hard Drive Is Full

“Hi, the free space on my hard drive keeps getting less and less even though I’m not installing anything onto it. In fact, I’ve deleted files and folders to try to increase the free space on the hard drive, but the free space still keeps getting less and less. I’ve searched through the files and folders, there seems to be about 80GB that is being used by the hard drive that I cannot locate anywhere. I’ve run anti virus software and anti spyware software I also have a firewall running. However, the hard drive continually keeps getting full with what I do not know. Any ideas?”

In fact, it is a common issue that your disk is full. Even though many of you choose a large disk for data storage device, it still seems to be filled up somehow. If you meet such a case, your computer is likely to run very slowly or it is not allowed to make a upgrade for software or programs. So what should you do to solve disk is running out issue? Here I summarize three solutions to free up disk space below.

How to Solve Full Disk Issue

Run Disk Cleanup

As you know, Windows owns a built-in tool which is called Disk Cleanup that is designed to clean up temporary files and other unimportant or unnecessary data. In order to access it, you can right click a drive(here choose C drive as an example) and then select “Properties” to click “Disk Cleanup”. Under this tab, please choose the files you want to delete and click “OK” to perform this operation. From the following screenshot, you see this tool can free up to 12.8 GB of disk space on the operating system drive.

In addition, you also can click “More Options”, then remove some programs that you don’t use and delete recent restore point for more disk space.

Extend C Partition

It is possible that the above way only helps to free up a bit of space, in this case, how to solve hard drive is full issue? If you only encounter “C drive full” but there are still some free space on other partitions, you can extend C partition to solve this issue. MiniTool Partition Wizard Free Edition is highly recommended to you for this work. As a free partition and disk manager, it is designed to resize partition, extend partition, shrink partition and so on. Just download it to perform partition extension operation.

Step 1: Launch this tool and then in the main interface, right click your target disk and select “Extend” or click this feature from “Operation” menu after selecting a partition.

Step 3: Click “Apply” to execute this change.

Besides, you also can use “Move/Resize Partition” to directly extend partition size when there is some allocated space next to your target disk.

Replace a Hard Drive

If your entire hard disk is full, it is suggested to replace this disk and upgrade to a large one. This article Upgrade to larger disk can help to do this work.

In addition, there are still other ways to solve hard drive is full issue, for example empty Recycle Bin, uninstall some programs, reduce the amount of space used for system restore and so on. Here is an article to tell you 8 detailed solutions. Hope it is useful.
