"Best Partition Manager out there" by hockemoto
have used this program to resize, create, delete, format and even once, rebuild the MBR. This was across 4 large drives of different makes on 11 different partitions. All this was done rather quickly, without any data loss.

How Do I Hide Specific Drives

Recently I had such an issue “how do I hide specified drives”. It made me a little upset. I searched on the internet and solved this problem at last. Here share my opinion.

Why to Hide Specified Drives

With the development of technology, we use computers widely in all walks of life. As time goes by, there are many kinds of information and data stored on our computers. Among the huge data, maybe there are some confidential files or folders which can’t be saw by others. Generally we can use a folder encryption software to lock these folders. However, it is not a wise choice to lock each file or folder if we have many secret folders. If we don’t want others to know that they are existing in our hard drives, a best way is to move all files and folders you want to encrypt to a specified drive and then hide this drive so that the confidential data can’t be accessed from My Computer. After knowing the reason to hide drives, as for me, it is good way to keep information safe. But how to hide certain drives?

How Do I Hide Specified Drives

When mentioning the method to hide drives, I want to introduce two ways, using Disk Management and a professional partition software.

Hide Drives with Disk Management

Windows has a built-in Disk Management which can be used to do disk and partition management. As to hiding specified drives, it is also useful. Just do as the guidance:

Open Disk Management and select a target partition and right click on it. Then select “Change Drive Letter and Paths” to click “Remove”.

Nevertheless, if I reallocate a drive letter for this partition, and it will be visible again in Windows Explorer.

Hide Certain Drives with MiniTool Partition Wizard

In addition to Disk Management, there is another way to help to hide drives which contains confidential data, which is using MiniTool Partition Wizard. As a professional partition manager, it is very easy to hide partition for data safety. Do this task as the following guidance by only three steps.

Step 1: Download MiniTool Partition Wizard Free Edition and install it.

Step 2: Go to its main interface. Here I can see all partitions on the disk clearly. Select a target drive, right click it and select “Hide Partition” feature. Also I can select this feature from “Operations” menu.

Step 3: Here I can preview the drive letter will be hidden. At last, click “Apply” to execute this operation.

Go back my computer in Windows Explorer, Partition E has been hidden and can’t be accessed.

Like that, MiniTool Partition Wizard Free Edition easily solves “how do I hide specified drives” issue and protects privacy information from being accessed by others. If I want to access the files in this hidden drive, I can unhide drive with this manager.

Compared to Disk Management, I prefer to MiniTool Partition Wizard, because in addition to hiding partition with it, it also can be used to resize partition, extend partition, migrate system, do conversion between MBR and GPT, do conversion between NTFS and FAT, change drive letter, rebuild MBR, etc. If you also like this software, you can try it.
