"Best Partition Manager out there" by hockemoto
have used this program to resize, create, delete, format and even once, rebuild the MBR. This was across 4 large drives of different makes on 11 different partitions. All this was done rather quickly, without any data loss.

Server 2012 disk management unable to extend volume

Volume extension is always needed especially for inexperienced computer users who have sized their partitions irrationally. The unreasonable disk space distribution will absolutely bring some troublesome issues. For instance, in my Windows Server 2012 computer containing 3 hard disks, the system partition in disk 1 was configured to have only 40 GB. As time passes by, all kinds of data eat up free space. Now, I often get the disturbing Low Disk Space warning message. To go over the issue, I tried varying means and the Windows Server 2012 disk management tool is unable to extend volume for me.

Partitioning Features Provided by Server 2012

As the sixth Windows Server edition, Windows Server 2012 added and improved many features, but few breakthroughs have been made in disk management aspect. Take the feature Extend Volume as an example. It is believed that many users have come across the situation where certain function is grayed out. What are possible reasons? Actually, such issue may appear when the unallocated space is not right behind target NTFS partition.

Well then, how to expand volume when Windows built-in disk manager is unavailable? Users can try server partition manager boasting excellent partitioning capability. Since performance of software varies, we highly recommend users to try highly qualified MiniTool Partition Wizard Server Edition.
